..a liviNg lEgAcy..

Each of us has different personalities that make this world a unique place to live in, each portraying in the perspectives of a magician who never shares his secret, a warrior who never shows his weakness or a martyr who never shows his sadness. Somehow we want to be remembered like these personals whose personality is defined by all, a personality that somehow differentiates your self from others.

As we walk into a new journey, we tend to leave behind memories hoping that these people would cherish it and keep it as a living treasure, a treasure that only few people would realize its worth.

Leaving memories is perhaps one of the things that a person can achieve before reaching success. Leaving memories is like leaving a part of you to those people you know that had been a part of you as a whole. You leave memories to server as an inspiration to those who you want to succeed in life without you being there beside them all the time. You leave your memories behind hoping that they won’t forget that you had been with them even for just a short span of time.

As I live my alma mater, I want the people I leave behind to remember me simply as David Aiello Velez Zamora who, in every moment, would cherish every second he had during his high school days. I want to be remembered as the UP drum corps snarer for four years who would bring music to people’s ears in every single beat of a figurine, a snarer who gave countless efforts to be considered as one. I want to be simply remembered as someone whose life is string-attached to music, someone who would learn to appreciate every genre in music and enjoy its distinctive melody, an amateur guitarist who, with all efforts, practiced every basic in playing the musical instrument which also gave popularity to the island of Cebu.

I want to be remembered as a sporty person, someone who, in every Intramurals event, gave his one hundred percent effort for his team. I want to leave behind memories of me as a basketball enthusiast, a volleyball die-hard, etc. I am personally connected with sports by heart and by blood. Tennis, badminton, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer, sepak takraw are some of the sports that my family are engage with as a whole, the sports that made our every loud beat of our hearts, the sports that somehow made my family’s hearts beat as one.

I want to be remembered as someone who would give his every smile to cheer up every lonely heart that needs accompaniment, someone who wants every person around him to be happy and be always enthusiastic, to be proud of his or her existence and most of all, and enjoy life.

These are one of the things that I want my alma mater to remember of me as I go into a new stage in life, a new stage in life closer in pursuing my personal dreams.
