..rOyAl fAmiliEs...

Families, families that have the capability financially to become a leader of our country, had ruled our country. A family of dictators would rule my grandfather’s government offices and perhaps my grandchildren’s government system. There would be a ruling of so-called royal families. These situations are what we call as the political dynasty, a dynasty of families that rule our country whether for a short or long span of time. Political dynasty first started during the time of the Kings and the Queens and the pharaohs. Someone relative by blood would succeed each ruler’s position, a succession of the same principles of leadership. They are those people who have the same motive in being a leader and how they would change our country. They would try their perception of how their country should be governed through their successors that they had influenced since childhood.

Political dynasty is not allowed by the constitution of the Philippines. Political dynasty is forbidden to avoid the unequal distribution of wealth, a wealth that they earn by being a “servant” to his or her fellowmen. I am somehow confused of why our judiciary department still allow political dynasty to still exist in the country’s premises. Political dynasty is one of the things that have not been gone for the past administrative bodies. Political dynasty is prevailed by families that are in greed of power and wealth. Even though that political dynasty is very visible around the country’s boundaries, not a single act was done to try to prevent it to happen, not a single person filed a complaint against those who pertain to political dynasty. Every person is afraid to be against a family of Supremes that have enough power to sentence you to death, enough power that can destroy you and your entire family tree.

I myself am already exposed to this situation at my age of this moment of time. Different political dynasties have passed me, each perhaps in every island in the entire Philippine archipelago. Most politicians, or maybe all politicians, that had been part of a political dynasty are rich men. But can rich men solve our number one problem in our country, poverty? How could they solve this problem if they themselves haven’t slept in a manger for just once in their lifetime? Could they really understand how and why our country is filled not only by politically-engaged families but by families experiencing poverty and famine?

This article would try to open up the people’s mind to not encourage themselves in voting candidates that could be part of political dynasty unless his or her vote means a loss of a liter of blood in his body or if his or her life depends on it. At least, a single act could be done to try to prevent another reigning political dynasty. Same principles of being a leader don’t open a new idea on how to improve our country. It is the overlapping of principles that could perhaps save a nation from its downfall.
