Marriage, as defined in article one of the family code of the Philippine constitution, is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life. Why did article one really specify that marriage is between a male and a female”? Is there such marriage that a man would also marry a man or something aside from a woman?

Actually, there is really such thing but is preferred to be just in a level of companionship. Solemnizing officers tend to deny those couples, aside from a man and a woman, to engage in such intimate relationship like marriage. Is this an act of discrimination? Doesn’t this act by such solemnizing officers violate us of our natural right, which is the right to love, the right to choose of whom we want to be with and be not separated unless the union violates the sacred Ten Commandments? But other than that, persons that have authority over us tend to encourage us to forbid such act in engaging in a relationship other than that of a relationship of a man and a woman, influencing us to what they say as the ideal view of a relationship or perhaps the practical view of a relationship a relationship where the public should consider the way it is supposed to be.

To be honest, I am talking about relationships between lesbians or homosexuals, relationship between those of the same sexes. It is now visible in our society that there is indeed such type of relationship. We tend to discriminate them for doing such acts that we thought to be immoral. But they are also human beings, they have their own pint of view on which they want to engage in an affair with. Instead we should try to somehow listen to their point of views. If they could prove to us that they should be together as couples, then without further doubts, we should support them in their decision. They are also human beings regardless of how they act and think and therefore deserve equal respect.

Same-sex marriages are somehow not valid in our constitution but there is no law that forbids us from our freedom of expression. We humans express our love in different ways, ways that somehow could be weird to our society.
